About Us
The concept of Princess de Poo was born back in 2017 when Shannon Ryan-Riggs, the author of Princess de Poo & The Magic of Potty Training for Preschool, was potty training her third and youngest child who simply wouldn't go poo in the potty. She knew there must be a better way. Shannon thought up the idea of Princess de Poo to see if interacting with a fairy princess would incentivize her daughter to go #2 in the potty. After a few days of secretly decorating the bathroom, leaving notes from Princess de Poo, and providing treats as a result of no accidents, her little girl was keeping her pants dry at home and at school. No more diapers! Shannon was on to something.
Many years have passed since the concept was conceived. But, today, Shannon is sharing the story and tools for the first time in an effort to help make potty training fun and rewarding for little ones and their parents. She recalls the stresses of feeling like those little pants needed to stay dry at preschool but was uncertain whether or not her daughter was able to make that happen. Her thought was that if these tools and concepts were able to help lift just a little bit of stress and burden from the lives of others, the mission would be accomplished.
